And having more different spheres gives you a more reliable mana income. I'd probably go for Air, it's simply my favourite sphere. I'll let you put the pieces together yourself. The trick is that it's not just a combination of Forestry and Mountaineering. The benefits of Stoneskin should be obvious and Free Movement is the cheesiest exploit spell in the game. And then you use Chain Lightning to lure the defenders out from behind their walls.Īnd from Earth you'd get Stoneskin and Free Movement. Then yo have Haste which is great on a high level hero and you'd have Summon Eagle, which allows you to attack walled cities without siege equipment. Air has Chain Lightning which is the only combat spell that ignores obstacles and is excellent for luring defenders from behind their walls. Water would give Liquid Form which gives physical protection. And you'd have Fire Protection as a bonus.ģ Water, 2 Air and 2 Earth are all viable choices for later. You'd have +4 move, worth 8 skill points, and lose 1 Resistance, worth 5 skill points so that's a net benefit of 3 sp. And after a while you can even hold evil cities, as long as you didn't do anything that would seriously piss them off (like razing or looting their citiez or migrating them to another race).Īzrac would actually be a little stronger than Halfling. In anticipation of AoW2, I have decided that certain choices will have to be made: I will play the Keepers campaign (read: good campaign) and side with the Keepers throughout the game.Īs a starting character I chose to be a halfling and gave him the ability to hurl rocks with a slingshot as well as the frst rank of marksmanship. I have added screenshots of the entries for anyone who is interested. So in this thread I shall share my exploits during the Age of Wonders.įor those who do not know, the story of Age of Wonders is based on how humanity's appearance throws the world into chaos and how this situation is dealt with.ĭuring the campaign, the game's story is told with journal entries, kept by the main character. I found that keeping notes about the game made it twice as enjoyable. This thread really made me want to play the games again.
